Oct 2023

I guess the fall is wedding season now because we had 2 in 2 weekends.  Josh and I were able to celebrate Roman and Teresa's wedding with them and a lot of our neighbors! The day was beautiful and we love their family so much!
Josh left the next day for Nevada for 6 weeks and missed Steph and Kenny's annual birthday party! I love that we celebrate the grown ups birthdays with the kids!
Our BMX team planned a day to go to a new skate park and when we got there there was an event going on that none of us knew about so it was so crowded.  Jack doesn't have a park bike so he brought a skateboard and I was so proud of him for just getting out there and trying even though there were so many people.  He really is growing up!
Then he took his mountain bike out there and had fun with the other kids on bikes
Kaleb
On Oct 21st we had the BMX state final.  We were nervous because Kaleb had wrecked in all 3 qualifiers which made his points low so I didn't think he would get a state plate.  Only the top 9 out of 18 got plates and he was ranked at 14 so he had to win the final to even qualify.  Well, he did it!  He ended up with the 8 state plate!
There were only 5 riders in Jack's class so only the top 3 got a plate.  He had to finish second to qualify for state 3 and after coming in 3rd in round 1 and 2nd in round two he had to come in 2nd in the main and he nailed it! He fought so hard!  He's been a little discouraged because since moving up to intermediate the other kids are clipped into their pedals which give them an advantage so he thinks he can't beat them, but he proved himself wrong!
Jack and Kip
State Champs!
Send it got the 3rd place trophy out of 13 teams in the state!
Mom hasn't been feeling well so we decided to go get her and bring her up for the holidays, but first we wanted to make her room feel like an actual bedroom instead of a bed in the storage room.  I think it turned out nice.
West Virginia was fast but fun.  The drive there was so beautiful!
Mom had spaghetti ready when we got home. Sis, Carrie, and Gino brought the kids up and we had a fun evening.
Devan, Kaleb, and Danni
A few days later we went to Danni's house and decorated Halloween cookies with her.  When we were leaving she wanted to go with us so we went to dairy delight for ice cream them went to Chapmanville to go trunk or treating
She loved riding on the golf cart with Jack,  Devan,  and Kaleb

She loves dinosaurs so she kept going back to this lady and hugging her. She was so sweet. She kept saying "I'm so citced!"
We came home Friday so the boys could race in the Halloween race and Kaleb got his 30th win which moved him up to the expert class!
Jack was racing in the expert class because there weren't any intermediate and he did great! He was right there with a kid that's been expert for years!
Jack riding coach Foxx's homemade bike!
Halloween was different this year... the boys carved their pumkins all by themselves and instead of all the kids meeting up before going trick or treating the boys left on their own and this was the first year we didn't follow along in the mule.  They did have Ken on call to come and let them empty their bags into the back up bags when they got to heavy.
Jack's
I did make them let me take a picture though!
Way too much candy... again!
I found this in Kaleb's writing notebook from last year.  He was assigned to write a poem.  😂
