First Day of School

Image
August 21, 2023 I usually start school a week or two before the county so we have some wiggle room and can be finished by memorial day but since we were gone so long we started the same day as the county. Jack is in 8th grade.  He still hates school and thinks it's a waste of time.  🙄 I really hope this is the year he accepts that he has to do it and has a better attitude about it.   Kaleb is in 7th grade.  We had a long talk the night before about him being in middle school now and I'm not going to sit beside him all the time and walk him through his work.  🤞 for a good year!  I didn't plan a full jump in the first week and it went really well! The boys didn't argue with me and was only rowdy a little.  Friday, Josh got home early and we went out on the boat.  It was a perfect afternoon! The water was smooth and warm! The boys rode the wakeboards and surfed.  Kaleb has been trying to clear the wake and had a nasty crash.  I don't think he

home sweet home!

6,940 miles in the books! After we left the salt flats we drove for 3 days sleeping in church parking lots for 6 hours two nights.   The next day we pulled everything thing out of the van and trailer.  It's crazy that we had that much stuff with us!  We slowly unloaded and got everything ptt away. Barret sat in the van the whole time like he always does lol we've never left him before so I don't know why he's afraid we will.

August 14, 2023 Utah Salt Flats

The last mandatory thing on our list was checked off this morning.  Kaleb learned about the salt flats in Utah this year in science so he asked if we could go ride dirt bikes on them.  They loved going as fast as their bikes would go! We rode over 30 miles and didn't expect to see the great salt lake but we did and we touched it! Lol Even Barrett got to ride!  Our trip east will go faster than coming west because we have the Pro Motocross Championship to go to Saturday!  I can't believe school starts next week!

August 6-14, 2023 Time with Family in Paul

Image
After leaving Alturas we headed to Paul to spend time with family that couldn't make it camping.  Josh had a few things that he wanted to do so we rounded everyone up and got to playing!  We didn't have a many for fugitive as we did last time but it was still fun! Trent and Jack are still the champions It's a 12 passenger van, right?   Taylee got caught then became a trader!  Welcome home party for Trent! It was so fun having everyone there!  When Josh and I first got together he told me, back home, he would take the girls "ice blocking" for a date and he thought it was weird he couldn't find ice blocks out east. I had no idea what he was talking about so after 15 years he organized a family day of ice blocking. It was so funny watching everyone ride these blocks of ice down a hill!
