Josh comes home! Jan 2023

Josh came home mid January and the first thing he said to me on the way to the car was,  "Is Jack taller than me now?"  😂

We had left up the tree so we could celebrate with him since he missed Christmas. 
Soooo tired after days of traveling 
He had to work the next morning then we headed to Meckley's cabin and was there pretty much every thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sunday until March.  There wasn't much snow the first weekend so we had to walk to the slopes but the ski in and out was open not long after. 
The boys were a lot more confident on their
 boards this year.  They both starting riding the rails and jumping more.  We were really nervous about Kaleb since he had just gotten his cast off and the first time he wrecked Josh hurried over to him and asked why he was crying and Kaleb said "I hurt my knee" Josh said "oh good, at least it's not your wrist!" LOL

Jack had grown so much since last year! He's 6 inches taller than me! 
I always do puzzles at the cabin and the kids will come and help one by one a little at a time but this night they were all working them together 😊

Josh had asked me to make the kids "ski team" shirts, so I did.  They named the moose that was on the wall Mooselheimer when Ken bought the house so we figured no better name than Mooselheimer Ski Team and Josh wanted the nicknames that's Ken had for all them on the back.  

Jack-Flash, Kenny-Two Sticks, Kaleb-Spike, Emily-E-Beau, Alexa-Cille, and Sophie-Soph. 
We love ski season and have the best neighbors/friends to share it with! 
Barrett even loves the ski cabin! 

I don't think he loves playing dress up 😂😂

First Day of School

August 21, 2023 I usually start school a week or two before the county so we have some wiggle room and can be finished by memorial day but since we were gone so long we started the same day as the county. Jack is in 8th grade.  He still hates school and thinks it's a waste of time.  🙄 I really hope this is the year he accepts that he has to do it and has a better attitude about it.   Kaleb is in 7th grade.  We had a long talk the night before about him being in middle school now and I'm not going to sit beside him all the time and walk him through his work.  🤞 for a good year!  I didn't plan a full jump in the first week and it went really well! I guess the fall is wedding season now because we had 2 in 2 weekends.  Josh and I were able to celebrate Roman and Teresa's wedding with them and a lot of our neighbors! The day was beautiful and we love their family so much!  Josh left the next day for Nevada for 6 weeks and missed Steph and Kenny's annual birthday party! I love that we celebrate the grown ups birthdays with the kids!  Our BMX team planned a day to go to a new skate park and when we got there there was an event going on that none of us knew about so it was so crowded.  Jack doesn't have a park bike so he brought a skateboard and I was so proud of him for just getting out there and trying even though there were so many people.  He really is growing up!  Then he took his mountain bike out there and had fun with the other kids on bikes Kaleb On Oct 21st we had t...

The last bit of August

Saturday, August 26th was the last VA state Qualifier, so we had to race it so they will be eligible to get State Plates at the end of the Season.  The race was at VMP just south of Richmond.  It's a dirt track that's really bumpy and not well maintained.  Kaleb slid out in the second turn in round 1 and Jack came in 4th abs only top two transferred so they both had to race the next round.  Round two wasn't kind to us.  Kaleb was taking first and slid out and hit another kid.  Izzy stopped to check on Kaleb and Holly and I kept yelling "go Izzy, get first!" LOL. Kaleb was down for a while and in shock for about an hour.  We were very thankful he didn't break anything but it was scary watching him so confused.
