July 30 - Aug 5 Alturas Lake Idaho.

6 months ago Josh text his family and gave them dates that we would be camping in Idaho and 31 of them made it! Josh has always told me of all the places he traveled, Alturas Lake is his favorite! We spent 5 days in the mountains without cell service, electric, and water because the campground didn't have any open sites. I was nervous at first but once we got the bikes unloaded we were able to take them to the campground and use the bathroom and get water.
Aunt Carrie always makes sure to play games with Kaleb!

Trent had only been home 4 days from his mission in Canada before coming camping. ❤️

This was the first time we didn't have a boat with us so Josh spent the week trying to make friends with people hoping that he would get a tow. There were two families in particular that he kept talking to. His bubbling personality actually paid off the last day we were there. We were packing up to head back to camp, and this lady we had been talking to all week came running over and said, "My husband is finally here and we would love to give you a ride behind our boat." He was so excited because their boat was nicer than anything we'll ever own lol. He got out there and showed off for them and even people on the shore were cheering for him. 😂😂 The other family didn't give him a tow but they did give him some ham subs so he got free lunch that day!
Barrett watching Josh pull off with a strange boat.  He was very concerned.
I was nervous the kids would be board since we didn't have a boat, so I bought 4 tubes and I'm so glad because they were used the whole time!

There was lots of fishing, swimming, snorkling, dirt bike riding, game playing, airsoft battles, and laughs! The boys thought this was hilarious.

The boys used Zach's minnow trap to catch fish all day.  They were so excited.
Going snorkling
Last year we lost one of our anchors to the Potomac, so when Josh spotted one at the bottom of the lake he had to try and get it. It was 35 feet down so the second day he brought his fins and got it on his first try. We even got a fancy rope with it! Haha
Since there went waves really, the boys came up with a way to skimboard.

Daddy, pull me please!
Barret had fun chasing the fish everyday.  People couldn't believe that he would do it for the whole 4 or 5 hours we were there.
every once in a while he got too cold and would dry off just to get back in.  😂
😊
They really liked riding in the mountains.
Josh remembers going to a mine when he was little but no one really knew exactly where it was so he went and found it.
This is one of my favorite bathing suit tops, so I have to tell this story.  The first time I used the shower on the van I couldn't figure out what to do with the clothes I took off because I didn't want to throw them on the wet ground, so I decided to throw them on top of the van.  The next day Josh and I took a drive to red fish lake because I'd never been there then on the way back, right before we turned right to go back up into Alturas, Josh turns the van around real quick.  When I asked what he was doing he said "That looked like your bathing suit." Sure enough, my top, bottoms, shirt, and shorts were strung all over the road.  🤣🤣
Luckily, no one had ran over them and I still have my favorite top!
Pictures that Zach took of Barrett
Our time at Alturas was amazing! Josh always days is his favorite place on earth.  Lots of great memories were made!
Of course we couldn't get both of them to be serious in one picture.  Lol
Josh's family has been camping here his whole life and a tradition they have is to stop in Shoshone and get an ice cream cone because they're so big.  We are carrying on that tradition!
