The boys were supposed to go back to school today, but we woke up to me snow than we've had in years! It was definitely enough to put me in baking cinnamon rolls from scratch mood!
All the dads and kids went to the garage and made a sledding track, then us mom's came later to hang out. It was a prefect snow day!

Today is my 42nd Birthday! I'm still losing weight and feel better than I have for years! They have called off school because of the snow for the rest of the week, which gave the boys a 3 week break! I do miss having them home but being back in so has been so good for everyone. We went to Casa Tequila last night with the Meckley's for an early birthday dinner.
Today we just hung out as a family. Mom took us all to Glory Days for dinner. Josh got my favorite vanilla cake from Wegmans and the boys made me some awesome gifts with their 3D Printer. It was a great way to start 42!
Kaleb made the Cricut tool holder and Jack made the jewelry stand. ❤️

We got all the meat back from the boy's deer they killed in December and it's a lot. We also had quite a bit deer hamburger from last year so I looked up ground deer jerky recipes. I borrowed a dehydrator from the Pew's and it turned out so good! The first batch I made was very plain so next I made Teriyaki and Sweet and Spicy. Those were delicious!
He's so Regal!

Mom had a Gala at the Senior Center she goes to in Lorton. She's made some really good friends there and they even hang out and go to dinner outside of the center. She was excited and it was funny watching her go through all her jewelry to pick what to wear. She had a great time and was home by 10:00 😂😂

Now that the boys are back in school I have a lot of free time on my hands. It's crazy how different it is just since the time I started homeschooling until now. I can't figure out exactly why it's so different, but it is. I guess, before, once they got home from school, they needed me. I helped with homework, cooked dinner, and helped them get ready for the next day. Now they don't need me so much anymore. They come in, do their homework on their own, hang out with friends, sure I still cook but then they hurry off back outside or to play their computer games. It's kinda heartbreaking, but good to see them growing up.
Last month I watched 7 seasons of Covert Affairs in 5 days! I told Josh I needed something to do and I thought I wanted a part time job. I emailed the career center on Fort Belvoir and set up an appointment. She told me to email my resume to her before our meeting, so I did. When we met she told me I shouldn't put anything on there over 10 years old because it's irrelevant and I should never put that I was a stay at home mom. I left there feeling defeated because I hadn't worked in 15 years so I didn't have anything else to put on there. She started sending me emails with job openings around the area and two weeks ago I saw an ad for the physical therapy office Kaleb used to go for his foot and I went for my back in 2020. They were looking for a part time Medical Administrative Assistant . I asked Josh if I should apply and he said yes. On Friday I emailed them my pathetic resume and introduced myself telling them I was a former patient and that I had been home with my kids for 15 years and was ready to go back to work. To my surprise they emailed me on Sunday asking if I could do a phone interview on Monday. Wednesday I got a call asking if I could do an in-person interview on Friday and the next Monday they offered me the job!
Today was my first day!

Kaleb decided that he wants to play Lacrosse this spring! I found out about this camp that is led by some Pro Lacrosse players. I asked if he wanted to go and he said yes. He was a little nervous because he has never played but he warmed up quickly and did great! We've been scrambling to find him some gear and when Roman found out he called Josh and told him not to buy anything that he would send him some. Paul and Stella were there last weekend and brought Kaleb two, sticks, a helmet, several pair of gloves and jerseys! He was excited to go to this camp wearing a Maryland Terps helmet!

Work is going really good! It's a lot to learn and I'm working really hard. I take notes everyday and come home and study all evening. I've been going to bed around 8:00 lol Today the office manger brought me the golden dumbell, an award given by other coworkers weekly. I get to keep it on my desk for a week until I give it to someone next week!

This is the first time in many years that we've made cookies other than at Christmas. The boys are getting older but they are doing a great job at entertaining me while trying to keep them young!
Josh helped Kaleb build a rebounder and he's been out in the yard every evening practicing!
