July 16, 2023 The Roadtrip Begins!

As of yesterday, there were only 5 states in our country that I hadn't been to. This trip we will be hitting 4 of them and seeing 4 of the 5 great lakes! 
Josh calls the trailer our toy box, because we are hauling 7 pedal bikes, 4 dirt bikes, 2 wakeboards, 2 Traxxas trucks, snorkels and fins, and anything else we need to have fun! 

Josh has been working so hard to get the van ready so we can have power off grid so we can go anywhere and have a hot shower and a way to cook! 
We made it to Ohio yesterday just in time to race at a bmx track we've never been to before.  It started pouring right as mains started but they both qualified so we had to finish!  
This girl remembered Jack from racing in Rock Hill earlier this year and came over and talked to him.  Josh and I sat there watching and was so impressed that he had a conversation with her and laughed cause he had no idea she was flirting! 🤣🤣 Josh told him later,  "Jack, you know that girl was flirting with you, right?" He just gave him his serious face and walked off. Lol
There was a really cool skate park that the boys enjoyed riding on.  After the race we went to my friend Kristy's house.  It was so nice hanging out with them and seeing their new home.  We slept in the van in their driveway and the boys slept in hammocks in the trailer.

We spent the morning playing around Lake Erie. The boys wanted to swim but it was 7am so I told them only up to their knees.  Josh taught Jack how to skip rocks and Kaleb chased the birds 🤣🤣
Since we got dirt from every state on our last road trip, we wanted to change it up so Kaleb came up with getting a flower.  He brought paper and a book and this was his first press!
Next we headed to a new state for me, and headed for Lake Michigan.  It was so beautiful! It looks like, and even has waves like the ocean but it's a lake! I'm so amazed by this lol we drove another hour north to our campground where I, successfully, made tacos without killing the battery!

6 months ago Josh text his family and gave them dates that we would be camping in Idaho and 31 of them made it! Josh has always told me of all the places he traveled, Alturas Lake is his favorite! We spent 5 days in the mountains without cell service, electric, and water because the campground didn't have any open sites. 4-1 The ski hill that Josh grew up going to is still open but only on weekends, so they hiked to the top of it and made their own jumps.  The boys were not impressed with the journey getting up there but had so much fun once the work was done!  4-4 Our nephew Zach works at a zoo in Twin Falls so we went and saw him.  This is the perfect job for him! He's so knowledgeable about all the animals and you can see how much he loves what he does. We enjoyed our visit.  4-5 I took the boys to a skate park in Burley today and Kaleb had a pretty bad crash and we ended up in Urgent Care.   Good thing he can still play his oculus while he's recovering! 😂😂 4-6 They went back to Pomerelle on Saturday to snowboard.  The boys were so excited that they got to ride the lifts this time.  Haha ...

I guess the fall is wedding season now because we had 2 in 2 weekends.  Josh and I were able to celebrate Roman and Teresa's wedding with them and a lot of our neighbors! The day was beautiful and we love their family so much!  Josh left the next day for Nevada for 6 weeks and missed Steph and Kenny's annual birthday party! I love that we celebrate the grown ups birthdays with the kids!  Our BMX team planned a day to go to a new skate park and when we got there there was an event going on that none of us knew about so it was so crowded.  Jack doesn't have a park bike so he brought a skateboard and I was so proud of him for just getting out there and trying even though there were so many people.  He really is growing up!  Then he took his mountain bike out there and had fun with the other kids on bikes Kaleb On Oct 21st we had t...
