August 6-14, 2023 Time with Family in Paul

After leaving Alturas we headed to Paul to spend time with family that couldn't make it camping.  Josh had a few things that he wanted to do so we rounded everyone up and got to playing!
We didn't have a many for fugitive as we did last time but it was still fun! Trent and Jack are still the champions
It's a 12 passenger van, right?
Taylee got caught then became a trader!

Welcome home party for Trent! It was so fun having everyone there!
When Josh and I first got together he told me, back home, he would take the girls "ice blocking" for a date and he thought it was weird he couldn't find ice blocks out east. I had no idea what he was talking about so after 15 years he organized a family day of ice blocking. It was so funny watching everyone ride these blocks of ice down a hill!

Dutch had it down!
Taylee did awesome on her belly!
Me, not so much! 😂😂
Kaleb said it was so easy he could do it and drink his root beer!
Carrie and Tyson gave it a go.
Mikala, Sawyer, and Ember
After sledding we walked over to Shoshone Falls. It's so beautiful there!

I took a picture of Jack on these steps right before he turned 2 and I'll take one every time we're here.
Kaleb and Thomas
Next, was swimming and cliff jumping at Derkes Lake.

Jack
Josh has always heard of bigger cliffs that were there but had never been to them so a bunch of them went looking for them.  About 45 min later he came and got me so I could watch them.  There was a 30ft drop that everyone did but I
wasn't there to get pics of Kaleb.
Jack
I got to see Jack jump off the 40ft one.  We were all surprised, he just walked up there and did it!
Kaleb sat up there for about 45 minutes trying to talk himself into it but decided not to jump.  I was totally fine with that because that's a big drop!
Josh trying to encourage him
Of course Josh outdid everyone and jumped from 50 ft!
Sawyer and Sandy

Ember!

Trent and Tru couldn't stay awake on the way home!  Lol
Tyson and Carrie left the next day so my kids were pretty bummed.  They love hanging out with their kids!  Luckily we had more family to keep us entertained. 😊
RJ and Zach took us fishing and we all caught some nice fish! When we were done I couldn't believe it had been 4 hours! Time always flies when you're fishing.
I had the first catch of the day!
Jack had the next and biggest fish of the day!  It was bigger than Zach's size 14 boot!
After years of trying, and believe me he's don't a lot of trying,  Kaleb finally caught his first fish!
I was the only one to catch 2!
My friend Adrienne moved from VA to Utah a year and a half ago so we were able to meet in Ogden and have lunch! It was so good catching up!
Randy and Josh took the boys riding while I was gone.
Kaleb and Dutch at Burgers Etc.
We went and visited Grandma Draper's have and took flowers
The boys wanted to take a new truck to Callahan's grave and Kaleb cleaned all the grass clippings off before we left. ❤️
Grandpa flooded the yard and let the kids skim board while others played Tramp Ball
Me and Zach
Josh's 20 year high school reunion was canceled so we planned a get together with his closest friends! Jordan, Skylar, Woody and Josh have been friends since elementary school and were always up to no good when they were young.  🤣

The Gemstate BMX National was going on while we were there so we drove to Boise and raced one day.  These west coast bmx riders are so fast! Jack didn't make mains but was so close! I'm so proud of the effort he's putting in and can't believe he's right up there with the kids who have been intermediate for a while.
Kaleb made mains and came in 4th. He's really fat and the space between him and third was pretty big.  These kids must rode year round.
Grandma and Grandpa came!
The Saturday before we left Callin and Kristen took us boating.  It was a little windy so wakeboarding wasn't the best but Jack and Kaleb both got up on the surf board and did awesome!
Jack, Kaleb, and Thomas
We ended the night with cliff jumping! I think my kids are enjoying this way too much!
We found this picture of Josh while we were there and couldn't believe how much Jack looks like him.  Without the yellow hair lol

Like always, our time in Idaho has gone way too fast, but we've enjoyed every minute of it. We've  spent lots of time with family!  I love seeing my boys play with their cousins,d it always makes me so sad to leave.
